Mainz 05 striker Christian Benteke scored twice as he led his side to a vital victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
The Dutchman, who has been a regular in the Bundesliga this season, was instrumental in Mainz's second goal, which came after he had received a free kick and headed it past Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Timo Werner in the 68th minute.
Benteke also played a crucial role in Mainz's defensive play during the match, collecting several assists while assisting another goal from Marco Reus.
"Christian is one of the best strikers in Europe," said manager Hansi Flick. "He always plays well and always scores goals."
The victory gave Mainz a valuable point against a tough opponent, but they will be keen to avoid complacency going into their final game of the campaign.
"We have to win every game to stay up," said Flick. "We have to keep pushing forward, because we can't rest until the end of the season."
Mainz's next match is against Eintracht Frankfurt at home on Sunday, with the winner set to face Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League next week. The club will need to secure all three points to avoid relegation.
But despite the pressure, Flick remains confident that his team can bounce back from their recent struggles.
"I'm not worried about our form," he said. "It's just a matter of how we approach each game and what we do."
